Frequently asked questions.
What is an active jobsite?
For purchased equipment, monthly monitoring service begins when you scan the equipment QR code, sign in, choose the jobsite and confirm setup. Hardware purchase and delivery alone do not start monthly service.
Can I move hardware to another project?
Yes. Purchased hardware is customer-owned and can be redeployed. Deactivate the completed jobsite in your account, move the equipment, then scan the equipment QR code and choose the new jobsite. The scan starts monitoring and billing for the new active jobsite.
What if a unit breaks?
IrysConnect hardware includes a 12-month limited warranty against defects. The warranty does not cover loss, theft, misuse, accidental damage or damage caused by jobsite conditions outside the product's intended use.
How does rental billing work?
The initial 60-day rental period is prepaid at checkout. The 60-day term begins on first activation or 7 days after confirmed delivery, whichever occurs first. After the initial 60 days, the rental renews month-to-month at the posted monthly rate until the rental is ended and the IRYS equipment is returned.
What if hardware is lost or damaged?
Customer-owned equipment is the customer's responsibility after delivery. Rental equipment remains IRYS property and must be returned when the rental ends. Lost, stolen, unreturned or customer-damaged rental equipment may be subject to replacement charges under the applicable rental terms.
What does “cellular included” mean?
While a jobsite is active, the service price includes the cellular connectivity used by IrysConnect gateways and direct cellular T/RH sensors. You do not need to purchase a separate SIM or data plan from us.
How often does it report?
The standard reporting interval is hourly. Alert behavior and supported intervals can vary by device and deployment.
How is Bluetooth monitoring billed?
Gateway-based monitoring is $99 per active jobsite for the primary gateway, including supported HOBO MX loggers or IrysIoT-supplied Bluetooth sensors on that deployment. Each additional active gateway at the same jobsite is $39/month. Direct cellular T/RH monitoring is $49/month for up to 4 sensors, and each additional direct cellular sensor is $15/month.
How far does Bluetooth reach?
Capacity and coverage are different. A gateway can support up to 32 devices on supported deployments, but usable Bluetooth range depends on the sensor and the physical site. Wide-open spaces provide the best coverage; concrete walls, metal, equipment, enclosed rooms, corridors and multiple floors can reduce range. Additional gateways may be needed for coverage.
When does billing stop?
Service is billed while a jobsite is active. Scanning and confirming the equipment QR starts service for that jobsite; deactivate the jobsite before moving or storing purchased equipment.
Do you support ASTM F2170 concrete RH monitoring?
Yes. IrysIoT supplies DeFelsko® PosiTector® CMM IS in-situ RH probes as part of the concrete/substrate package, together with an IrysConnect Indoor or Rugged Gateway and an ambient T/RH sensor.
Does IrysConnect replace the ASTM F2170 procedure?
No. IrysConnect provides remote access, alerts and historical visibility for the supplied in-situ probes. Probe installation, equilibration, measurements and project documentation still need to follow ASTM F2170 and the project specifications.
Why monitor ambient and substrate conditions together?
They answer different questions. Ambient sensors show conditions around the flooring, while in-situ probes measure RH within the concrete. Viewing both helps the project team understand the condition history in context.
Can substrate probes appear on the project floorplan?
Supported monitoring points can be associated with project locations so teams can identify where readings originate and review them alongside other jobsite devices.
